Job Title: South Production Manager (Permanent)
Location: Calgary
The Southern Area Production Manager role at HWN is a multidisciplinary role helping to lead the operations group at the company. We are looking for an analytical and dedicated individual with experience at leading, coordinating and implementing a variety of production management and other engineering projects across our current asset base. Additional details around those organizational duties and are provided below.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Continually review and track production and identify areas in need of correction or improvements.
- Work with engineering, geology and other teams to identify, implement and monitor value enhancing projects including new development, workovers, recompletions, optimizations, etc.
- Work with the field team to implement identified projects in a safe and timely manner.
- Assist in preparation of AFEs for identified projects with a focus of working with reputable, safe and professional contractors in the field.
- Regularly visit the field to establish strong rapport and environment of mutual respect with the field team.
- Proactively address potential production issues and present potential opportunities in the absence of daily direction.
- Assist in management of budgeting, accruals, nominations and production tracking.
- Assist in the management of HWN’s ARO program to manage company well and facility liabilities.
- Review and implement field level compression and pipeline projects in order to optimize production capabilities; work with field team and potential internal facility engineer to implement said projects.
- Be proactive about identifying areas to improve internal processes for the management of large or complex sets of data.
- Proactively work to ensure all internal HS&E policies are adhered to and improved upon.
- Attend weekly operations and management meetings.
- Assist with other duties or special projects, as required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Greater than 8 years of experience in a related role in the Oil and Gas industry.
- PMP, P.ENG. and/or Asset Certified and or desire to obtain.
- Familiar with Oil and Gas facilities, infrastructure, pipelines, and artificial lift systems.
- Able to effectively identify and address well, field and plant performance issues.
- Familiar with regulatory requirements in Alberta.
- Experience working with engineering and construction contractors.
- Familiar with PMI practices and principals.
- Goal-oriented and capable of meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-focused skills with the ability to demand results.
- Strong commitment to building team dynamics and team performance with a cross functional view.
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
- Must be willing and able to travel and work in the field.
