Job Title: CO-OP Summer Student Data Analytics, 4-8 month term
Location: Calgary
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analytics Summer Student to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analytics within the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to support several projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets from various sources.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
- Document methodologies, processes, and findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for business improvement using dashboards and exception reporting.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is a plus but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with production techniques and methodologies.
- Familiarity with oil and gas production accounting, production engineering or finance.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools.
